We're hiring

ONE (1) PART-TIME

, permanent, person-centered Developmental Support Professional to provide one-on-one support that helps people connect with their community, build skills, and live life to the fullest.

The Ideal Candidates Will:

Bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a positive attitude. Bring versatility and adaptability to provide individualized and consistent support. Have an interest in physical fitness and be willing and able to support the person to participate in a variety of fitness activities. Seek out and facilitate opportunities to build and nurture relationships with family, friends, neighbours, and community members. Require sleeping in a designated area of the person's home for overnight sleep shifts. Have possible interruptions of sleep to support people with personal care. Provide personal care and daily living support using a "do with, not for" approach to promote independence. Hold a valid driver's license, valid insurance, a clean motor vehicle record, and have access to a reliable vehicle is considered an asset.
This position offers regular hours of work, as well as on-call hours, competitive wages and benefits, as well as opportunities for career advancement. The shifts are fixed on a two week rotation, as follows, and the ideal candidate will be able to work the schedule, and be available for relief, when offered.

WEEK 1 (Sunday - Saturday): 23 hours PLUS RELIEF

Sunday: 8am - 11am Wednesday: 8am - 12pm Friday: 8am - 11am / 10pm - 8am (Overnight Sleep Shift) Saturday: 8am - 11am

WEEK 2 (Sunday - Saturday): 20 hours PLUS RELIEF

Tuesday: 8am - 11am Wednesday: 8am - 12pm Thursday: 8am - 11am Friday: 10pm - 8am (Overnight Sleep Shift)

Qualifications

Developmental Services Worker (DSW) or a PSW diploma or related experience in human/social services Valid Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check specific to the Alice Saddy Association. First Aid & CPR + AED and CPI certification (or willingness to obtain). Proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (required upon hire).
Starting wage rate: $25.08/hour.
