We're currently hiring a
Direct Support Professional (DSP)
for a
full-time, 1-year contract
position. This is an opportunity to be part of something deeply meaningful -- supporting individuals in building skills, independence, and connections.
About the Role
As a DSP, you'll provide hands-on support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our programs, community employment settings, and social enterprises. You'll champion person-directed support, promote independence, and help people engage more fully with their community.
Key Responsibilities
Participant Support
Help participants identify and achieve personal goals
Encourage inclusion, independence, and meaningful engagement
Support employment, life, and communication skills
Provide personal care and accommodations where needed
Foster positive relationships and safe environments
Program Delivery
Deliver and help design person-directed programming
Supervise participants in various settings, including community outings
Maintain program quality through evaluation and team input
Promote respect, inclusion, and participant choice at all times
Administrative Duties
Maintain accurate progress notes, records, and reports
Assist with Individual Success Plans (ISPs) and quarterly outcomes
Attend meetings, trainings, and contribute to safety and OH&S inspections
Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and team members
Support community awareness initiatives and Prescott social media
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Post-secondary education in human services or a related field
1-3 years of experience in disability support, caregiving, or health care
Skills & Attributes
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Organized, flexible, and solutions-oriented
Knowledge of rights-based, person-directed approaches
Basic computer and social media literacy
Commitment to learning, growth, and professional ethics
Work Environment
Physical requirements may include assisting with mobility and working outdoors
Frequent standing, lifting, bending, and active supervision
Work may take place on-site or within the community
