The Butchart Gardens is looking for an individual to fill the following position:

DEPARTMENT: FOOD SERVICES

POSITIONS: DINING ROOM SERVER

We are looking for a candidate to fill the role of Dining Room server. The Dining Room Restaurant is a fast paced, full service, 120 seat fine dining restaurant. This position reports to The Dining Room Restaurant Supervisors and Managers.

The successful candidate will be required to:

provide exceptional service to our visitors in a professional, courteous, and prompt manner

make suggestions of wine pairings to enhance the seasonal entrees we offer

assist in the set-up and clean-up of The Dining Room Restaurant

help create an enjoyable and productive work atmosphere for all staff in the department

be open to change and able to communicate new ideas and developments effectively

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and demonstrated attributes:

a minimum of 2 years' experience in a server role in a similar food service establishment

an excellent knowledge of wines and spirits

strong verbal and written communication skills

positive, outgoing attitude with a passion for food

the ability to succeed in a team environment

operate effectively and professionally under frequently changing and stressful circumstances

an understanding of the importance of attention to detail

excellent organizational skills

Serving It Right and Food Safe certificates

This is a seasonal position offering between 25-32 hours per week from November 27, 2025 - January 6, 2026, with the potential to return for the 2026 spring/summer season. Shift times will primarily fall between 1pm-10:30pm. Both weekday and weekend availability are required. Starting from $18.98 plus gratuities.
