Dining Room Attendant
Job Description
Karwood Retirement Retreat is a 72 bed facility providing a retirement living environment for our residents.
Currently, we are looking to hire Dining Room Attendants for our Home at 39 Karwood Drive, Paradise.
Duties consist of, but are not limited to....
Serving meals to our Residents.
Assisting the cook with any tasks that has to be completed before each meal.
Take residents orders and relay to the cook
To make sure all meals are presented well.
Be sure to always approach the residents with a friendly attitude and ask them if they are enjoying their meal.
After each meal, all dishes are to be cleared and washed, tables are to be washed, sanitized and reset (always restock tables after each meal).
Sweep kitchen and dining room floors after each meal or as required
Keep kitchen, including counters and floors, clean.
Assist with plating desserts.
Assist cook with putting away deliveries.
Adhere to the provincial guidelines for proper and safe food handling and practices.
Foster an environment of engagement, encouragement and safeguard to ensure resident's well-being is maintained.
Be sure to always approach residents with a friendly attitude and be courteous.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Is compassionate and cares about the dignity of each resident.
Communicates well with coworkers and residents.
Possesses patience and understanding .
Is able to kneel, bend, stoop and lift repeatedly.
Has good listening skills.
Understands how good health and hygiene go hand in hand.
We are willing to train as required for dining room attendant position.
A copy of your first aid certificate, medical assessment, record of immunization, TB testing, and code of conduct are required for this position.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.48 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
Paradise, NL: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
