The Digital Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Manager and Director in the creation and implementation of digital campaigns for their clients. They will help position APEX as a trusted partner to our agencies and clients and are responsible for driving and delivering excellence in Strategy & Planning, owning digital plans and brief responses for their accounts. Three key pillars to the role are Media Planning, Digital Strategy, and Account Management.

They are also responsible for training and providing guidance to media buyers and assistants. They negotiate with media vendors to secure the most cost effective delivery of objectives; balancing price with quality factors. The negotiation is reflective of the strategy & brand requirements of approved campaigns in digital in a team environment.

This role requires a candidate who is analytical, math proficient, and well organized with great attention to detail. The candidate must be well informed of the digital landscape (OLV, display, audio, social, native, programmatic), trends and research.

APEX is a newer division of Publicis Groupe in Canada, the candidate chosen will help build processes, be a self-starter, highly accountable person able to work with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Train media assistants and media buyers - Provide guidance to ensure their successful professional development
  • Manage, coach, and lead small team supporting the day-to-day activities by overseeing the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of their work
  • Maintain control of workflow and assigned responsibilities to juniors within the group
  • Oversee progress of assigned projects
  • Contribute to the continuous evolution and development of our planning and operational best practices and frameworks
  • Contribute to the media industry knowledge, including keeping clients up to date with industry best practices, measurements, and analytics
  • Serve as the day-to-day trusted partner and contact for key clients and agencies leveraging APEX solutions
  • Lead and/or attend meetings with clients
  • Build and maintain client relationships
  • Clearly articulate the APEX proposition, including client advantages across trading, technology, brand safety, performance, and outcomes
  • Coordinate & manage RFP requests across various online channels including Programmatic Display, Online Video, Audio, YouTube, and Social
  • Analyzes media alternatives and make recommendations as to how to best allocate the advertising budget
  • Negotiate approved digital executions
  • Work with media vendors regarding tactical aspects of the media buy to achieve campaign objectives and/or fulfill a client request
  • Manage contracts/ insertion orders and any resulting revisions with media vendors
  • Input buys into Prisma
  • Actualize media spending and optimize media campaigns based on performance
  • Assist with billing and maintenance of client financials
  • Prepare/develop reports in Excel & Power Point - routine & custom reports
  • Usage of all media related systems (ie. Prisma/DDS, DCM, 3rd party verification, etc.)
Qualifications
  • Minimum of Associate Degree in Media, Bachelor\'s degree a plus/preferred
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience working in a digital role - across channels such as display, online video, Audio and YouTube.
  • Able to produce digital media plans & supporting rationale documents that demonstrate a high level of expertise and digital innovation
  • Take responsibility and ownership of projects, whilst working in a fast paced environment
  • Experience training junior members of a team/ overseeing team projects and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Able to work successfully with teams, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines under pressure
  • Amicable/gets along with people - builds strong relationships with media contacts
  • History of developing positive on-going client relationships
  • Media systems\' proficiency (DDS, Prisma, Sales Force)
  • Strong quantitative skills, including analytical abilities and math proficiency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Technical proficiency, particularly with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Quick learner
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
