Major Purpose
The Digital Platforms Officer contributes to the development and implementation of digital communications/marketing strategies designed to engage audiences and enhance the visibility of FCM across corporate communications channels. The Digital Platforms Officer will manage content on social media accounts, contribute to production research and logistics, help with visual design and implement social media campaigns and new website content, monitor analytics and prepare reports. Evaluation of content reach, impact and results will also be critical.
The Digital Platforms Officer leverages current best practices and emerging trends to expand FCM's reach and impact across corporate communications channels, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Working collaboratively, implement digital strategies and campaigns. Liaises with members of the Policy and Public Affairs team on digital communications activities to ensure a coordinated, strategic and integrated approach.
Develops, edits and helps disseminate content on social media platforms (Twitter, Bluesky, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram).
Responds to comments on social media platforms in accordance to FCM's community management guidelines.
Provides support in multimedia production, including creative asset research, video editing and visual creation.
Helps curate FCM's media asset library.
Provides support with research and logistics for upcoming video campaigns and series, including booking guests for video shoots, conducting pre-interviews, location scouting etc.
Supports the team by conducting quality assurance across all digital platforms, ensuring that all content is error-free and fixing bugs.
Supports member communications by laying out and disseminating sends via an automated marketing tools like Click Dimensions.
Uses social media analytics tools to monitor campaigns and boost strategies, support the creation of performance reports and social listening functions.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
A combination of professional and lived experience and/or post-secondary degree in communications or a related field, with a specialization in social media/digital communications/journalism/marketing.
2 to 3 years' experience in a professional communications role with a digital communications focus including knowledge of best practices and emerging trends for social media and web.
Proficient in the use of digital media platforms including, but not limited to: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, Sprout, etc.
Experienced in using email marketing systems like Click Dimensions.
Experienced in managing social media channels with large followings in both official languages.
Experience in analysing and tracking digital data and the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies.
Demonstrated experience with digital content production (design, photo editing, etc.), tailored to different platforms.
Strong knowledge in the areas of communications planning, project management, and quality assurance.
Excellent planning and priority management skills.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise tact and judgment.
Able to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a quickly changing, fast paced environment.
Experience in video production an asset.
Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
