About this Position
The Digital Media Specialist reports to the Senior Production Manager and Manager of Video Production. The Digital Media Specialist is responsible for support in the preparation and facilitation of all digital media A/V technical requests. This can include everything from the planning, filming and editing of internal and external productions. The Digital Media Specialist is responsible for inventory control and equipment maintenance. Hours depend on production needs and may include days, evenings, and weekends.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Playing a key role in NMC's Video Production Team.
Capturing content. This can include video, live action, still photo and audio.
Transferring files and editing to a final product while meeting deadlines.
Setting up and operating video switching equipment and livestreaming infrastructure.
Facilitating live stream events in a team setting.
Performing regular maintenance of A/V equipment.
Being flexible and adaptable to the needs of the organization with a positive attitude.
Working with NMC staff, volunteers, and third-parties.
Adhering to NMC policies and attending training and evaluation meetings.
Ensuring the security and safety of Studio Bell and the NMC Collection.
Providing good stewardship of Studio Bell.
Ensuring the comfort and safety of visitors, staff and volunteers of NMC.
Advocating on behalf of NMC, communicating our mission and vision and being up-to-date on key messages and dress code requirements.
Completing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Experienced editor with strong storytelling skills and understanding of social media platforms and trends.
Experience with pre-production, production, and post-production workflows.
Experience shooting video and photography of live performances, interviews, and events.
Strong troubleshooting skills with video and audio equipment.
Competent with setting up, operating, and tearing down set lighting and backdrops.
Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
A strong team player with exemplary leadership skills and a positive attitude.
Strong organizational and logistical skills with attention to detail and accuracy; able to multitask and manage time effectively.
Work well with staff, volunteers, clients, guests, and contractors.
Enthusiastic and self-motivated.
Work well independently with minimal supervision.
Strong communication skills and able to think quickly on your feet.
Possess a strong passion for music.
Willing and able to work weekends and maintain a flexible part-time schedule.
The ability to lift up to 30 kilos.
Exhibit patience and thoroughness when mentoring NMC staff and volunteers.
Experience with theatre, live events, museums, or other not-for-profit organizations.
Experience setting up and operating video switchers and streaming gear.
Experience as a musician and familiarity with recording studio environments and equipment.
