Digital Marketing Strategist

The Digital Marketing Strategist is responsible for User Experience on Banff Centre\'s digital platforms including strategy, layout, branding, and consistency. The Digital Marketing Strategist will provide design, functional expertise, and analytics to other employees, particularly senior staff, departmental colleagues, and marketing and communications personnel concerning content marketing and optimal web performance.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Takes a collaborative leadership role in web development and digital advertising, working with IT, Marketing and Communications, and various departments, to ensure the highest possible contribution of the website and other digital platforms to the Centre\xe2\x80\x99s marketing, communications, and sales objectives.
  • Project management with IT ticket prioritization and web deployments.
  • Creates wireframes, designs mock-ups, digital ads and email templates for Banff Centre web platforms.
  • Creates digital design for related assets.
  • Creates and consults on content for marketing campaigns, including video/digital collateral, driving awareness of Banff Centre\xe2\x80\x99s online content.
  • Implements all structural changes using HTML and CSS for web and mobile.
  • Some content updates to website, digital platforms, and mobile app as required.
  • Owns ongoing analytics of web and digital activities. Applies analytic findings to web design, content, and information architecture.
  • Helps maintain standards, guidelines and templates for the website and digital platforms.
  • Adheres to nomenclature, metadata, etc., as per central Communication policies and guidelines.
  • Provides expertise on web trends, issues, and direction for senior staff, marketing staff, and other departmental staff (reports, presentations, meetings.)
  • Participates in decisions regarding website design and marketing content creation.
  • Committee work and project work as needed.
  • Implements analytics for digital, creates monthly dashboard, shares findings and helps to promote findings throughout the organization.
  • Leverages best practices for web user experience, digital platforms, digital advertising, CRMs, email marketing and analytics.
  • Cross functional relationship building across the Centre to prioritize web content and web development.
  • Implement metrics and KPIs to enable data driven web/digital strategy.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
  • This position requires an undergraduate degree in computer science, digital marketing, or relevant experience.
  • Minimum 6 years \xe2\x80\x98experience working in a web/digital marketing environment, including hands-on understanding of current trends in web technologies, digital marketing, SaaS solutions, analytics and social media.
  • Strong understanding of social media, content marketing, digital and email marketing best practices.
  • Experience in user experience, web navigation, UX/UI, wireframes and mockups.
  • Experience with CRM environments.
  • Proficient in web development tools including HTML, CSS, JQuery, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, XD as well as experience with video editing software, Flash or HTML5 animation. Familiarity with best practices in Information Architecture.
  • Extensive experience with Google Analytics, Tag Manager, SEO/SEM, MS Office.
  • Highly motivated self-starter.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Social media analytics experience (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linked In) an asset.
  • Digital advertising experience required.
  • Experience with online content management systems (WordPress /Drupal) SEO, Proficiency with, MailChimp or other email marketing software (ie/ Constant Contact) as well as list management. Database experience an asset.
  • Bilingual (French, English) an asset.
Employment Terms & Benefits
  • In accordance with CUPE 4318, this is a unionized, salaried support staff position, subject to a 6-month probation period.
  • This starting salary for this position is between $62,400 and $65,520 annually, depending on experience, working 40 hours per week.
  • The successful candidate will be eligible to participate in the extended medical and dental group benefits plans and will contribute to an employer-matched pension plan.
