Wage: $27/hour Hybrid position (in-person and remote). This position is primarily based out of the Rockies Region (Canmore/Bow Valley). Contract position beginning as soon as possible to March 23rd, 2026 with possibility for extension. This position is primarily based out of the Rockies Region (Canmore/Bow Valley). The successful applicant will be responsible for arranging transportation to and from in-person work locations, including on-program locations in the Bow Valley region. Due to funding requirements for this position,

eligible candidates must be 30 years or under AND be a post-secondary graduate (or high school graduate if you are from the territories only - Northwest Territories, Yukon or Nunavut).


About The Howl Experience:

The Howl Experience is a charitable organization that brings Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth from across Turtle Island together in meaningful learning opportunities to build reciprocal relationships between communities and the land, in a way that allows all to thrive now and into the future. Howl's one to eight-day programs in the Rockies, Yukon and Maritime regions provide youth with immersive and impactful experiential educational experiences that are designed to deepen participants' understanding of ReconciliAction, Climate Action, Community Building and Personal Resiliency.

Howl programs empower youth to take action on these complex issues in their own communities by working in partnership with some of the country's most passionate educators, community leaders, Elders and Indigenous Knowledge Holders. Howl Experiences challenge youth to expand their comfort zones and explore their own leadership styles so that they can become the community leaders, social innovators and change-makers that are needed to bring about a more just, caring and sustainable world.

Job Overview:

The Howl Experience is looking for a passionate community member in Treaty 7 to support Howl's development as a burgeoning national charity and environmental education provider. Howl offers inclusive and exceptionally safe land- and community-based educational experiences that build young people's knowledge and skills in Truth & Reconciliation, climate justice, community leadership & resilience. Our programs weave Indigenous ways of knowing and environmental science, working to generate reciprocal relationships between individuals, communities, and ecosystems. This role will work on marketing, communication and storytelling to communicate the impact of Howl programs, positioning the organization for further growth and success.

The successful candidate must be available to document program stories in person in the Bow Valley for programs running November 5 - 9, 2025. Additional program dates including October 29 and Dec 10 may be required, as well as dates to be determined for Winter/Spring 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

Creating, posting & managing content for Howl's email, social media channels (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn) & website. This includes editing and preparing photos, videos, and other digital content. Working with the staff team to keep the Howl Experience website up to date. This requires responding to and managing multiple priorities in a given week. Supporting the development of communications about Howl programs & impact to potential sponsors and youth participants (Including evaluating survey data, compiling impact stories & testimonials, etc.) Capturing stories through photography, videography, interviews, etc. for Howl Micro-grant recipients and in person on programs for the following dates, which may include evenings and weekends:
? November 5 - 9, 2025 ? October 29 & December 10, 2025 ? Other dates as needed in Winter/Spring 2026

Supporting with the creation of a long-term storytelling strategy ? Support with the creation of a Howl brand guide Other duties as assigned
Job Eligibility & Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

Have at least 1 year of experience in marketing and content creation (social media, emails, website, etc.) Equipment, Editing & Tools: This role requires strong photo, video, and digital editing skills to help capture & share the stories of Howl programs. The successful candidate should be comfortable editing short videos for social media, formatting photos for digital use, and creating compelling visual content. Howl will provide a Canva Pro subscription.

The ideal candidate will have their own photography & videography equipment, as well as video editing software. The quality of content must be suitable for social media & web posts, as well as for public presentations.

Employees must use their own laptop; Howl does not provide employee computers.
Have strong communication skills and can demonstrate proficiency in writing, speaking, and content creation including graphic design. Have a demonstrated knowledge and awareness of the Bow Valley community. Be passionate about the environment and creating a sustainable future. Be committed to creating safe, equitable and inclusive spaces for meaningful connection, diverse styles of learning and knowledge sharing; Have experience working with Indigenous communities, and/or are committed to learning about local Indigenous cultures, protocols and traditions; Have great communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage difficult conversations requiring a high degree of self-awareness and cultural sensitivity; Be comfortable working both remotely & independently, in-person in a team environment; Have exceptionally strong organizational skills and enjoy working with others to manage complex projects; Enjoy working with youth within diverse and dynamic groups. Assets: Videography experience, experience creating stories to promote a human-centred program or service.

Requirements

The following are requirement of employment:

Obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check within 2 weeks of employment and prior to engaging with youth on programs (a request letter will be provided); Provide their own computer, photography, and videography equipment. ? Be willing to work extended hours on Howl programs, including weekends, overnights and some statutory holidays throughout the following programs. All travel, accommodation and meals will be provided during programs:
? Banff 140 Conference from Nov. 5-9th, 2025 (Approx 35 hours on site in Kananaskis over the 5-day period);
? Be available for the following program dates in Banff: Oct 29 and Dec 10; and;
? Any others during the contract period, as required.

Have their own transportation to travel to various locations across the Bow Valley. The ideal candidate will be located in the Bow Valley, Alberta. Due to funding requirements for this position,
