The Development team is responsible for both the fundraising and marketing functions of House of Friendship, to grow financial support that sustains the mission of House of Friendship into the future, and to build awareness and affinity for our brand throughout Waterloo Region.

We are seeking a Digital Marketing Specialist at House of Friendship to grow our brand digital presence and fundraising results. As our Development team\xe2\x80\x99s technical and subject matter expert for all things digital, you love to take a deep dive into the data and make sure that the decisions we make are informed, working to maximize fundraising results. You love to troubleshoot and learn new ways of doing things, keeping abreast of the latest trends and new technology as it arises. Not only do you have a strong technical bent and are a constant learner, you are compassionate and caring, and need to make a difference.

You possess the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, without losing the care and attention to detail that is needed to produce meaningful content that will engage House of Friendship supporters across multiple platforms. Whether it\xe2\x80\x99s creating compelling social media posts, making the website robust and engaging, capturing amazing storytelling videos and photos, or analyzing Google Analytics, email lists or data from our latest online fundraising campaign \xe2\x80\x93 your passion and expertise shine through.

** This is a permanent, salaried, full-time (37.5 hours per week) position with paid sick time,

personal days and vacation; group health benefits and defined contribution pension plan.

Schedule to be Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm; with flexibility required.

Must be available for very occasional evening/weekend work related to fundraising and stewardship events.

Valid G class driver\xe2\x80\x99s license & access to a reliable vehicle required; travel within Waterloo Region. **

Key Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Be the Development team\xe2\x80\x99s technical expert, resource and administrator for all things related to digital marketing, including the creation of high-impact digital assets like videos, capturing mission-in-action photos, and managing and augmenting the impact and results of our online presence, email marketing, and online advertising

\xc2\xb7 Manage the social media communications calendar, creating unique and mission-centric social media posts across multiple platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, engaging program team members and partners to generate sharable content

\xc2\xb7 Lead, implement and track digital advertising programs to support fundraising efforts and strategic Development initiatives, in conjunction with an external agency as applicable

\xc2\xb7 Implement regular website updates to keep content fresh, to reflect best practices and to continually optimize user experience, enhancing the donor journey to improve fundraising outcomes

\xc2\xb7 Implement mass email deployments & tracking, and maintain a highly accurate, comprehensive email database, using best practices to manage subscriber updates, and ensure subscriber preferences are kept up-to-date in our donor database

\xc2\xb7 Track and analyze metrics across all House of Friendship digital platforms, including website, social media, online advertising and email, and provide ongoing opportunity and improvement recommendations

\xc2\xb7 As the digital asset point person for the Development team, manage the storage of and access to digital resources, including photos, videos, logos, and other graphics

\xc2\xb7 Manage an efficient story repository for the Development team

\xc2\xb7 Provide simple graphic design for fundraising & marketing needs

\xc2\xb7 Provide strong project management to all digital projects and select non-digital marketing projects, including frequent cross-program collaboration

Skills & Experience:

\xc2\xb7 Post-secondary diploma or degree in Fundraising, Marketing, Communications, or related field

\xc2\xb7 A minimum of 2-3 years of work experience in a comparable role

\xc2\xb7 Proven proficiency in creating and managing high-impact online media is required, with a special designation in social media management being a strong asset

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in digital marketing, from social media, to website, advertising, email management and analytics, with a desire to continuously learn

\xc2\xb7 Proven expertise, knowledge, and experience in managing of all things digital, from top social media platforms, website design & management, online advertising and email marketing

\xc2\xb7 Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to write effective and engaging social media copy, along with developing compelling graphics

\xc2\xb7 Proficiency in data analytics with the ability to implement effective reporting on metrics that matter to measure content performance and make timely decisions on how to optimize

\xc2\xb7 Strong technical expertise in capturing and editing photos and video

\xc2\xb7 Strong understanding of website management, with experiencing using WordPress

\xc2\xb7 Basic graphic design skills, with ability to manage an external partner for larger design projects

\xc2\xb7 Proficiency in Microsoft Office

\xc2\xb7 Proven ability to create, adapt and manage efficient and effective processes

\xc2\xb7 Self-directed with high capacity to manage multiple priorities and timelines

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated ability to build productive and collegial relationships with a wide variety of constituents including colleagues, donors, volunteers, participants and community partners, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills

\xc2\xb7 Familiarity with fundraising with an anti-racist/anti-oppressive approach is an asset

\xc2\xb7 Excellent ability to maintain confidentiality of key constituents at all times

\xc2\xb7 Easygoing, flexible and approachable with a positive attitude

o We use a 3.5:1 ratio meaning that the highest paid team member is not paid more than 3.5 times than the lowest paid team member

o Time off includes 3 weeks of vacation, 3 personal days and sick credits totaling approximately 12 days per year

Rate of Pay:

At House of Friendship all compensation ranges are categorized under a series of \xe2\x80\x9cgrades\xe2\x80\x9d and we base our payment structure on internal equity. When determining rate of pay, a candidate\xe2\x80\x99s past related experience will be taken into consideration along with where others with similar experience are currently on the pay grid. Note: Due to the internal composition of our pay grids, many team members with lengthy experience are between the start and mid-point of the range and therefore most new team members will be placed similarly.

Mid: $24.93
Max: $28.33

Working Conditions:

\xc2\xb7 37.5 hours per week, generally daytime, weekday hours

\xc2\xb7 Occasional evening and weekend work to support House of Friendship or Community events

\xc2\xb7 Travel within Waterloo Region is required

\xc2\xb7 Encountering participants at program sites who may be under the influence of alcohol or other, and/or experiencing symptoms of mental illness can be expected
