This role works very closely with the Senior Manager, Web Development and Production and the entire web team; and works collaboratively with two other colleagues within the Marketing and Communications team \xe2\x80\x93 a user experience (UX) specialist and web communications specialist. This position is a key contributor to NAIT\xe2\x80\x99s web governance model, and, more generally, the workings of Marketing and Communications and the resources available. Putting best practices into action and working to raise web content standards on NAIT.ca and NAIT\xe2\x80\x99s intranet properties will also be a focus for this role. Key Responsibilities:
Leads the evolution of the digital content strategy by managing the placement and structure of content across the institution and planning and coordinating the publishing of new or revised digital content aligned with that designed information architecture.
Working with the Web Communications Specialist, provides strategic content direction and is a key entry point to marketing, communications and web resources as required.
Provides advice on how to use strategic digital communications, making recommendations and often developing strategic tools to help NAIT achieve its vision.
Assists clients in planning and coordinating the publishing of new or revised content and maintaining a professional and consistent content standard.
Contributes to supporting written and visual content creation for online and social platforms, as well as certain print collateral.
Works collaboratively with business units at NAIT to complete research and gather business requirements and make recommendations based on data.
Supports the user experience journey mapping and plans and recommendations of the user experience specialist.
Participates in process mapping and project management.
Creates a comprehensive web style guide in partnership with the web communications specialist.
Coordinates regular content audits conducted by their clients.
Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge and expertise of NAIT\xe2\x80\x99s information architecture, including content goals, hierarchy, and connections across digital channels.
Extensive knowledge of writing, editing and visual content methods, techniques and practices
Knowledge of search engine optimization and search engine marketing.
Good understanding of leadership methods, techniques and practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in a related field such as Communications or Marketing with specialization in information architecture and digital information design.
Previous user experience design work is an asset.
