Reporting to the Leader, Digital Engagement, the Digital Engagement Coordinator works in a fast-paced environment providing web-based and social media content writing, editing, service and support.
This position assists in ensuring content on Island Health websites follow best practices for digital engagement and experience. This role provides approval for content posted on Island Health's internet and intranet websites and is a key resource for Island Health staff working on web and social content with the goal of achieving positive web experiences for end users and a positive image for Island Health.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a diploma from a recognized Communications or Public Relations program with up to four (4) years recent, related experience in web-based and social media communications, including experience with web-based content management systems.
Skills And Abilities

  • Ability to work as a positive and enthusiastic team player in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and respond with initiative.
  • Fluency in digital platforms, content management systems, and social media.
  • Understanding of web and social media analytics and campaign management.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and other content development software.
  • Ability to work quickly and independently, meet multiple deadlines, and make efficient decisions.
  • Proficiency with SharePoint for team collaboration and content publishing.
  • Excellent oral and written skills in communications with all levels of health care providers, patients and clients.
