Digital Coordinator

Primary Purpose: To support Huskie Athletics\' communication, marketing and promotional objectives with a focus on video, graphics and sponsorship fulfilment. The primary day-to-day focus is on digital sponsorship fulfillment, webcast, video planning, scripting, shooting and editing, digital content for social media and web, graphic design and in-arena video screens and game previews.

Nature of Work: Reporting to the Associate Athletics Officer, Program Development, this position handles fast-paced work, and is subject to constant internal and external deadlines, particularly from August through March. The incumbent will build and maintain important relationships with internal Huskie administrative staff and coaches, working collaboratively as an integral part of the Huskie administrative team. Regular evening and weekend work is required during the competitive season.

Typical Duties or Accountabilities:

  • Creates, develops and delivers all video content and/or collaborates with contracted providers for all USask Huskie video needs, including storing and archiving all video files;
  • Conceptualizes and designs materials for webcasting platforms in accordance with Canada West requirements including webcast planning;
  • Provides expertise and leadership with graphic design, video editing and videoboard planning and scripting;
  • Creates and coordinates design elements for social media and other internal platforms;
  • Maintains and upgrades the USask Huskie website platforms in conjunction with the Sports Information Coordinator;
  • Collaborates with the Huskie marketing team to create digital content to drive ticket sales, profile Huskie Health, camps, clinics and academies, profile donors, alumni and fundraising opportunities along with all sponsorship fulfillment;
  • Provides leadership in supporting all USask Huskie teams to maintain and grow their team social channels;
  • Provides support to Huskie coaches for Game Tape exchange
  • Remains up to date and seeks out digital media trends and opportunities;
  • Collaborates with Huskie Athletics coaches and staff to ensure marketing and communication goals are met;
  • Other duties and responsibilities and/or supporting initiatives as required.
Education: An undergraduate degree in a related field of study. A combination of education and experience in the field of digital media, video, social media and creative graphic design will be considered.

Experience: One to two years\' experience within the sport industry, with particular emphasis on graphics, graphic design, video and social platforms is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capacity to build and maintain positive relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Basic video and networking IT competencies
  • Ability to work with a high level of independence, initiative and attention to detail
  • Ability to simultaneously plan and coordinate multiple events of different types
  • Knowledge of Adobe Premiere Suite video and graphic production equipment and editing software
  • Knowledge of Streaming and Video Production
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment based on discretionary decision-making, a strong awareness of how such decisions affects the University, Colleges, USask Huskie operations and community relationships.
  • Ability to assume leadership;

Salary: The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $50,780.00 - 79,344.00 per annum. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
