Job Description

OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Junior Digital Content Strategist to support internal enterprise communications within BMO . This role will focus on publishing, managing, and optimizing digital content across internal platforms to ensure employees receive timely, relevant, and engaging information.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with content management systems, strong analytical skills, and a collaborative mindset. This is a great opportunity for an early-career content professional to gain experience in a large, regulated enterprise environment while supporting high-visibility internal communications.
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid - 3-4 days in office)
Contract Length: 6 Months
Hours: 8:00-4:00 or 9:00-5:00 (Overtime possible)
Pay Rate: $43/hour T4 or 48.5 on IC
RESPONSIBILITIES
Publish and manage content on internal enterprise communication platforms, including BMO Central.
Own blog posting activities using Contentful , ensuring content is accurate, timely, and aligned with communication objectives.
Support internal email communications by formatting and distributing messages using Workshop ; provide backup distribution support as required.
Analyze content performance data to identify trends, insights, and emerging employee needs.
Conduct regular content audits to evaluate effectiveness and relevance of existing materials.
Perform content gap analyses to determine missing or underrepresented topics and recommend improvements.
Create, maintain, and adjust the editorial calendar to support communication priorities.
Develop a strong understanding of internal target audiences through research and engagement metrics.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for the corporate intranet.
Post and manage content on internal BMO blogs as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of experience in digital content management or content strategy roles.
2+ years of hands-on web content experience.
Strong understanding of content management systems, social media platforms, and SEO fundamentals.
Experience working with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver content effectively.
Proficiency or prior exposure to tools such as SharePoint Online, Contentful, Workshop, and Adobe Pro .
NICE TO HAVES
Experience within banking or financial services environments.
Exposure to JIRA or similar work management tools.
SKILLS
Strong content presentation and formatting skills.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret content performance data.
Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Journalism, or a related discipline.
