Nature and Scope:
The Digital Content and App Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the development, implementation, and launch of a mobile-based digital storytelling platform that supports Aquatarium exhibits, education programs, and visitor experiences. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position works collaboratively across departments including Education, Marketing, Exhibits, IT, and Operations.
This is a project-based role requiring strong organizational, technical coordination, and communication skills. The successful candidate must be comfortable working with digital platforms, managing structured content, and coordinating multiple contributors while maintaining accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with Aquatarium themes.
This includes:
Coordinating the implementation of the company selected mobile digital storytelling and interpretive platform
Supporting the transition from static signage and kiosk systems to mobile-first content delivery
Ensuring content is accessible, inclusive, and aligned with Aquatarium interpretive themes
Coordinating internal contributors and external vendors related to app development and content delivery
Supporting reporting, documentation, and evaluation requirements related to grant funding
Duties and Responsibilities:
? Coordinate the overall rollout and implementation timeline for the mobile app and digital storytelling platform
? Act as the primary internal coordinator between Aquatarium staff and the app platform vendor
? Audit existing interpretive signage and content to prioritize digitization, accessibility, and translation needs
? Coordinate content input, formatting, tagging, and organization within the app platform
? Apply strong attention to detail to ensure content accuracy, consistency, and quality control
? Support English and French content development and coordinate translation support where required
? Test platform functionality across multiple devices and accessibility settings and document issues clearly
? Work collaboratively with Education, Exhibits, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure content accuracy and consistency
? Support internal training for staff related to platform use and visitor support
? Assist with basic public-facing communications related to the platform launch in coordination with Marketing
? Track project progress, timelines, and deliverables using ClickUp or similar project management tools
? Maintain organized project documentation and version control for content and assets
? Support data collection, usage tracking, and reporting required for grant deliverables
? Assist in the preparation of a final project summary and digital strategy report outlining outcomes and recommendations
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in communications, digital media, education, project management, museum studies, or a related field
Demonstrated experience coordinating digital content, technology-based projects, or structured information systems
Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
High level of comfort working with digital tools, content management systems, or mobile applications
Strong written communication skills, including the ability to edit, format, and organize content clearly
Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow established content standards and workflows
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple departments
Comfort working with timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements tied to funded projects
Experience with accessibility standards, inclusive content design, or universal design principles is an asset
Experience working in education, museums, science centres, or visitor-focused environments is an asset
Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset but not required
Work Environment:
The incumbent will work primarily in an office setting with some on-site coordination within the facility
This is a project-based role tied to grant deliverables
Schedule is full-time, approximately 40 hours per week

This is a grant-funded contract position
Term is up to 48 weeks, aligned with project timelines, and the potential for renewal or repositioning.
Wage equivalent to approximately $28.00 per hour plus applicable statutory benefits, consistent with grant budget
