About the Role:
Global Saskatoon\'s News Department is currently seeking a full-time Digital Broadcast Journalist to join its team. The successful candidate for this position may be required to work a variety of shifts and perform a variety of duties. In this position, you will report directly to the News and Operations Manager. This is a group 4 position under the current collective agreement.

You will contribute by:

• Generating original and relevant story/segment ideas.
• Strong on-air presentation, including live remotes and unscripted material.
• Writing, producing, shooting, editing, and posting content with multiple deadlines on a daily basis for both broadcast and online.
• ENG photography and non-linear editing for broadcast and online.
• Publishing video content to website and social media channels.
• Available to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
• Producing as required
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and experience you will bring:

• Post-secondary education in Journalism, Broadcasting, Broadcast Technology or in a related field
• Strong writing and storytelling skills
• Willingness to adapt to rapidly changing technology and workflows.
• Strong news writing and presenting skills, and the ability to quickly pivot between daily stories.
• Ability to handle the demands and pressure of multiple, daily online and broadcast deadlines in a high-tech environment.
• Knowledge of, and experience with, social media tools and technologies (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.) and related applications.
• Familiarity with Candidate Press style and WordPress would be considered assets.
• Preference will be given to candidates with proven shooting and editing experience.
• Self-started with good communication skills.

• An amazing, can-do attitude must work well under pressure and possess a desire to be the best.

• Valid driver\'s license with a clean driving abstract required.
