Your Opportunity:
This is an opportunity for a Dietitian I is to join the interprofessional team at the Stollery Children's Hospital for a permanent 1.0 FTE basis. This Dietitian I reports directly to the Child Health Nutrition Services Manager in the Edmonton Zone. The Metabolic Dietitian I is responsible for direct nutrition care for children and their caregivers for a variety of nutritional challenges, including, but not limited to, consultation & care planning for nutrition support via enteral and parenteral means, oral supplementation, optimizing growth and development. He/she is an integral member of the metabolic team and collaborates with and/or provides support for the team as required. This Dietitian actively integrates patient-and family-centered care principles into practice; has excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrates critical thinking, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills; has excellent time management and prioritization skills; and maintains continuing professional and practice competencies through professional development activities. This dietitian has a strong background in providing & leading evidence-informed nutrition care. Responsibilities will also include participation on zone and/or provincial NS committees and/or research projects as required for meeting Provincial NS Child Health Strategy & Standards targets.
Description:
As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information.
