Clinical Nutrition -Children\'s Hospital As a Clinical Dietitian you will be responsible for the nutritional assessment and management of patients within Paediatric Gastroenterology and the Post-NICU Discharge Nutrition Clinic. This includes providing nutrition care plans for children facing challenges leading to failure to thrive, with dysmotility issues and feeding intolerances, and children with maldigestive processes such as fructose intolerance and irritable bowel syndrome. This position reports to Manager of Clinical Nutrition for professional practice and administrative needs and to the Program Manager for program specific matters. Primary responsibilities include the assessment of nutritional status/nutritional needs, and the development, implementation and evaluation of care plans to meet these needs in a patient- and family-centred model of care. To provide these services, the successful incumbent will collaborate with other health care providers and function as a key member of many interdisciplinary teams. Temporary Part-Time Rate of Pay: $39.16 per hour - $48.95 per hour Hours of Work: 18.75 hours per week Duration: October 30, 2023 - October 21, 2024

Qualifications




  • Successfull completion of a Undergraduate Bachelor\'s Degree in Nutrition, Food Science or related subject acceptable to the hospital
  • Registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
  • Membership in Dietitians of Canada preferred
  • Recent experience with enteral and parenteral nutrition preferred
  • Recent experience with paediatric/neonate nutrition care preferred
  • Demonstrated skills in patient education and ability to support the advancement of dietetic practice-based research and knowledge
  • Ability to promote a high standard of professional practice by disseminating nutrition knowledge and information
  • Commitment to ongoing education and professional development related to best practice in clinical nutrition
  • Proficient computer skills including word processing and data management software
  • Ability to recognize own feelings, express them fully and constructively manage own feelings in challenging and emotionally charged situations
  • Ability to express ideas clearly, confidently and directly and work through conflicts and differences in a respectful way
  • Ability to stay effective and resilient when dealing with adverse circumstances and multiple demands
  • Ability to demonstrate an optimistic disposition toward new experiences and change in general
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC

  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Immunization Requirements:
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step)
