With approximately 110 staff working across 6 locations, in 2020-2021, Fife House served more than 850 residents and clients by providing supportive and transitional housing programs as well outreach programs to homeless clients and their families.

As a Dietician at Fife House, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission to provide housing and support services to individuals living with HIV/AIDS in the Toronto area. Your main responsibility will be to assist our in-house food service workers in developing and implementing dietary plans for our tenants. You will work closely with clients, providing guidance and education on nutrition and healthy eating habits. .
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with in-house food service workers to assess clients' nutritional needs and develop personalized dietary plans.
Conduct nutrition assessments and gather relevant client information, such as medical history, dietary restrictions, and food preferences.
Provide individual and group education sessions on nutrition, healthy eating habits, and meal planning.
Assist clients in grocery shopping and meal preparation, ensuring adherence to their dietary plans.
Monitor clients' progress and make necessary adjustments to their dietary plans as needed.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of clients' nutritional assessments, progress notes, and other relevant documentation.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and staff members to ensure comprehensive care for our clients.
Stay updated on the latest research and developments in the field of nutrition and incorporate them into practice.
Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development activities as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or a related field.
Registered Dietitian designation or eligibility to become a Registered Dietitian.
Knowledge of nutrition principles, dietary guidelines, and health promotion strategies.
Experience working with individuals with diverse nutritional needs, including those with chronic illnesses or dietary restrictions.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively educate and motivate clients.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in using computer software for record-keeping and dietary analysis.
