Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Dietitian to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nutrition and dietetics, with experience in patient assessment and care planning. This role involves working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to develop and implement dietary plans that promote health and well-being for patients, particularly in long-term care and acute settings.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate dietary needs and nutritional status. Develop individualized care plans based on diagnostic evaluations and patient-specific goals. Provide health coaching to patients, guiding them through dietary changes and weight loss strategies. Supervise dietary department staff, ensuring adherence to best practices in nutrition and food safety. Collaborate with medical teams to integrate nutrition into overall patient care, particularly for geriatrics and those requiring tube feeding. Utilize EMR systems to document patient progress, dietary interventions, and outcomes effectively. Stay updated on the latest research in dietetics and apply evidence-based practices in patient care. Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the dietary department.

Experience

A degree in Dietetics or Nutrition from an accredited institution. Experience in long-term care settings or hospitals is preferred. Supervising experience within a dietary department is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of physiology as it relates to nutrition and health. Familiarity with tube feeding protocols and management. Proven ability to conduct diagnostic evaluations related to nutrition. Experience with EMR systems for documenting patient information is essential. Background in acute care settings is a plus.
