Job Description


As a member of the healthcare team, the Dietetic Assistant provides nutritional care for the patients including independent nutrition screening, implementation and monitoring of nutritional care plans for patients at low nutritional risk, assisting the Registered Dietitian with patients at moderate and high nutritional risk, and supervising the clinical aspects of the diet clerk role. The Dietetic Assistant acts as a vital liaison and resource between the program, healthcare team, and the department of Nutrition Services. Diet office duties include knowledge of CBORD computerized diet system, calculation of food records, and modification of menus to comply with specialized therapeutic diets. This position involves working with a diverse pediatric population with a focus on the care of children and families in inpatient, and teaching of students, as applicable, is also required.

Qualifications

1.Baccalaureate Degree in Applied Human Nutrition or College Diploma in Food Service Administrative Technology
2. Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with the development and application of nutritional care plans in various populations
3. Proficient in computer literacy skills for advanced technology specializing in Nutrition and Food Services, eg. CBORD
4. Excellent communication, organization, problem -solving, conflict resolution and time management skills
5. Minimum of 2 years experience in Pediatrics preferred
