Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dietary Aide & Cook to join our team in providing nutritious and delicious meals for our patients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation. As a Dietary Aide and/or Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that meals are prepared according to dietary guidelines while also meeting the preferences of our patients.

MUST HAVE: FOOD SERVICE WORKERS CERTIFICATE & FOOD HANDLER CERTIFICATE

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals in accordance with established recipes and dietary guidelines. Ensure all food handling procedures comply with safety and sanitation standards. Assist in menu planning and meal preparation for special diets as required by hospital protocols. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service of meals to patients. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as needed. Provide excellent customer service by responding to patient inquiries regarding meal options and preferences.

Skills

Proficient in meal preparation techniques and food handling practices. Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, including cooking methods and equipment usage. Experience in food service within a hospital or healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in the kitchen environment. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $22.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 - 40 per week

AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
