Summary of Position
Under the supervision of the Food Services Manager, the Dietary Aide is responsible for simple food assembly and preparation, cleaning designated areas, portioning of beverages, cereals and desserts, operating the dish machine and the general clean- up of the kitchen.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
Serves meals to residents according to their dietary restrictions and individual preference;
Sets up the dining room prior to meal service and cleans and sanitizes these areas following meal service;
Operates the dish machine and following correct procedures. Washes pots, pans, dishes, and other wares and puts them away when clean;
Maintains sanitary conditions by routinely cleaning work areas and equipment and practices safe food handling techniques.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Current Food Safe certificate;
Previous experience in a food service setting, specifically in long term care or a hospital setting is considered to be an asset;
Experience in a Food Service Establishment and customer service oriented environment. Some experience in a Residential Care Community kitchen working with seniors is preferred;
Ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy, empathy and patience and the temperament necessary to maintain a caring manner while working with team members and residents.
