Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional food service to residents in our assisted living and nursing home facilities. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that meals are prepared, served, and maintained in a clean and safe environment while delivering outstanding customer service to our residents.

Responsibilities



Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Help with food inventory management, including stocking supplies and assisting with food orders as needed. Provide excellent customer service by engaging with residents during meal times, addressing their needs, and ensuring satisfaction. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service and assist with cooking when required. Follow proper food handling procedures to maintain food quality and safety standards. Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to food service in a healthcare environment.

Qualifications



Previous experience in the food industry or food service is preferred, especially in assisted living or nursing home settings. Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor towards residents and staff alike. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing time efficiently. Knowledge of basic cooking techniques is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential. Must be able to maintain a clean work environment and adhere to sanitation standards. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for interacting with residents and team members. Must be able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Police Check current within 6 months of date of hire and a current TB test Working hours are 4pm-7pm - (4 shifts bi-weekly) Must be able to provide a current Food Handling Certificate
