Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that our residents receive nutritious and appealing meals that cater to their dietary needs. As a Dietary Aide, you will assist in food preparation, serving meals, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help enhance the dining experience for our residents.

Responsibilities



Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines. Ensure that all food is presented in an appetizing manner and meets safety standards for quality and hygiene. Help maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment. Support the dietary team in inventory management by assisting with stock rotation and reporting any shortages or expired items. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and nursing staff regarding residents' dietary restrictions or preferences. Participate in training sessions to stay updated on food safety regulations and best practices.

Requirements



High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in food service or dietary settings in a retirement home or long term care is a plus but not required; we provide training for the right candidates. Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment. Attention to detail, especially regarding food presentation and safety protocols. Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently. Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting trays or boxes of food supplies. Must be able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Police Check current within 6 months of hire and current TB Test result
