• Attend to meal preparations under the supervision of a dietary manager or chef/cook.
• Assembling food items and meals for residents in accordance with set menus and portion standards.
• Delivering food to residents in their rooms or a dining areas.
• Following established safety procedures for all food and equipment.
• Ensuring the correct labelling of food and leftovers.
• Discard leftovers and take out garbage.
• Clean food stations and wash dishes, cooking vessels and silverware.
• Taking part in departmental quality control audits and procedures.
• Stock ingredients and monitor inventory.
• Assist in keeping track of expenses and menu planning.
• Help maintain kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Assisting in the training of nutrition services or department staff and students.

Valued Skills and Abilities:

• One (1) year experience as a dietary aide is preferred.
• Food Safe Certificate.
• Further experience in customer service will be appreciated.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Skilled in preparing meals according to instructions.
• Apt in operating cookware, bakeware and cooking appliances.
• Friendly with good communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in food services is a plus.

Sidney Care has been in operation for many years and provides a home like environment to its residents. The facility was recently renovated and is tastefully decorated.
