Qualifications:




Current certificate in safe food handling Customer service training High school diploma or equivalent WHMIS training and knowledge in Material Safety Data Sheets

Required Skills:




Ability and experience demonstrated through positive performance appraisals and work history Knowledge of special diets Minimum of one year experience (within the last 2 years) in large volume food service; institutional setting is preferred

Abilities:




Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays and/or weekends may be required. Able to function in a self-directed work team Cafeteria duties including operation of cash register. Monitors and updates special diets using computer program Monitors inventory and process orders Must be pleasant, co-operative and able to communicate well with patients, public, as well as Healthcare Team members Other duties as required. Possesses good organizational skills and able to speak and write English fluently Practices safety procedures, accident prevention and proper lifting techniques Preparation and/or portioning of food as well as kitchen/department clean-up duties (including pot wash/dish room duties). Receipt and control of stock/goods. Replaces staff when short call replacement is required Stock/care/maintenance/control of Nutrition and Food Service Equipment (ie. food distribution carts/vending machines etc.) Consistently meets attendance expectations, demonstrating reliability and commitment to scheduled shifts.
