ROLE
Supporting the Diagnostic Imaging Team with daily workflow and tasks
Facilitate positive patient experiences with Diagnostic Imaging Service
Communicating and working collaboratively with Patients, Medical Radiation Technologists (MRT), Sonographers, Clerical Staff, EVS, Nurses, and Physicians on a daily basis
Transports patients as needed to expedite care
Monitors waiting areas to ensure patients are registered and waiting in the correct area
Assist in Patient preparation (changing) and preliminary screening form review
Assist in exam room change over by appropriately cleaning the workspace, equipment, changing linens and organizing related imaging equipment
Supports inventory control by ordering, receiving, maintaining current of inventory and follows up on orders for missing items, misplaced items or defective items.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)
Graduation from a recognized unregulated care worker program (e.g. PSW, HCA, HCW) Or Certification or Diploma (or clinical placement in progress) in a hospital health care related field
Current BCLS (or willing to obtain within 2 months of hire) - mandatory
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)
Exceptional Communication skills in dealing with patients, staff members and physicians.
Organizational skills to perform required duties effectively and efficiently
Demonstrated excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Demonstrated computer literacy
Demonstrated understanding of Diagnostic Imaging Services
Regular and punctual attendance is a requirement of this position.
DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE(S) & EDUCATION
2-3 years Healthcare related experience, working in a hospital preferred
Experience with infection prevention and control practices
Experience with work safety practices, ergonomics * MRI safety training is considered to be an asset

Location(s): Multi-Site, working at both the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville. Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting. *Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis
Department: Diagnostic Imaging
Hours of Work: Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.
