Mogo is looking for a passionate and dedicated DevOps Engineer to join our growing DevOps team. The ideal candidate for this position knows how to best facilitate developers and product owners with existing workflows and make improvement as required. The ideal candidate will be proactive and help lead our hands-on effort in driving operation and security best practices as part of Mogo\'s rapid development cycles. In addition to being a technical wiz, we are also looking for a culturally-fit engineer who doesn\xe2\x80\x99t mind cracking a joke or two with us as a member of our tight-knit team setting.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:

Both building and running highly available infrastructure which supports our rapidly growing products.

Be an active member of our engineering teams in supporting successful delivery of new services, including establishing production requirements, creating build pipelines and implementing the aforementioned efforts in code.

Participate in on-call rotations to support delivery of our service which is available to customers 24/7 and year \xe2\x80\x98round.

You will have:

  • Experience operating highly available cloud infrastructure and ideally have done this in a regulated environment.
  • Managed containers including build, security, deployment and orchestration at scale.
  • A solid understanding of software development principles and be comfortable using these skills to solve operational problems such as automating Kubernetes or building tools to help our development teams to work quickly safely.
  • Been involved in incident response from on-call through to post mortem
Nice to have technical skills:
  • Programming Languages: Ruby, Python, Go, Bash
  • Databases: MySQL, PSQL, MongoDB
  • Automation Tools: Ansible, Chef, Terraform, Packer, InSpec
  • Cloud: Docker, Amazon Web Services, Azure
  • Monitoring: ELK Stack, Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus, AirBrake, Server Density
Impress us with:
  • Experience in designing self-healing, distributed-system architecture
  • Migration experience from stateful applications to a stateless containerized environment
  • Experience with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tooling
  • Chatbot/Slackbot/Hubot Development Experience
  • Experience with managing/rotating secrets for containerized services
