Job Title DevOps Engineer



What is the opportunity?

A key role within Wealth Management Technology & Solutions, Data Management and Insights team, who will work with multiple Wealth Management application team on DevOps and automation initiatives.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will design application CI/CD process and implement application packaging, build, release, deployment, and configurations as per design. You are also given opportunity in design and implement services automation. You will have opportunities to learn and support Kafka, In Memory Distributed DB (MemSQL), Big Data, cloud technologies which are used in various data applications.

What will you do?

  • Participate in CI/CD and cloud initiatives to setup and maintain Data application CI/CD and cloud environments
  • Provide CI/CD and cloud Technical support, expert counselling and support to Data application teams on construction and maintenance of robust, secure and efficient CI/CD and cloud environment
  • Troubleshoot issues related CI/CD and cloud with help of other teams to ensure CI/CD and cloud environment running smoothly.
  • Work with Data Application and support team on automating repetitive tasks
  • Follow RBC Technology Standards and provide guidance and governance to Data teams to ensure application environments meet compliance requirements.
  • Manage small initiatives by working with different teams including Unix, Windows, Security, Network, Change Management to ensure initiatives complete successfully.
  • Assesses and analyses the environment requirements, current state and technology choices to evaluate solution alternatives that meet requirements.
  • Gather requirements, prototyping, architecting, implementing/enhancing solutions, creating and executing test plans, operations management along with triaging and fixing operational issues
What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • Knowledge on CI/CD tools including Git, SVN, Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Urbancode, Nagios, LogStash, Splunk, Dynatrace, Prognosis etc
  • Public and Private cloud knowledge, skills and experiences (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Advance knowledge and hands-on experiences to code packing, design, develop and deploy the CI/CD and Cloud solutions for Java, .Net, Unix scripts and Database
  • Strong analytical, consultative, and team communication / facilitative skills
  • Experience and knowledge of agile development
Nice-to-have
  • Financial institution knowledge and experiences
  • Strong knowledge, experience, and understanding of Unix/Linux and Windows
  • Full understanding of IT Standards, Methodologies, CMM & audit requirements
  • Development experience with knowledge for Java, C, and Unix scripting
