Talan Canada (founded in 1997) has more than 110 consultants who work in an agile and pragmatic way with large companies (Finance, Insurance, Telecommunications, Services, Distribution, Public Sector) by combining consulting services / technological expertise / capacity to deliver and deploy projects.
The group is also experiencing a strong dynamic in North America with nearly 600 employees, following in particular the recent merger with several Montreal companies (Projexia, Insum, Createch).

Talan Canada is growing and looking to strengthen its teams with Devops Engineers for the Montreal office, able to work with clients in several industries.

The ideal candidate must learn quickly and enjoy working independently or in a team. He must also be comfortable in all aspects of software delivery on small and large projects, including test and build automation.

Candidates must reside in Montreal or be open to relocate for this job opportunity.

Hybrid working schedule.

Tasks

• We mainly work for our clients' projects, within our clients' teams.
• We also have internal, R&D and innovation projects, all opportunities to learn new techs and methods.
• We consider the work of a developer should be done in a team, on all the lifecycle of a product, from idea to production and maintenance, ideally in the Cloud.
• We believe it is possible to have a career in software development.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development experience
• Computer Science background or equivalent education
• Communication: Bilingual (English and French)
• Experience with:
• Source control management systems (GIT)
• Dependency management tools (Maven)
• Code quality (Sonar)
• Automation - Experience of automated test and release cycles and server automation tools such as Ansible, Bladelogic, Jenkins, artefactory, bitbucket, git and integration with security vaults.
• Virtual container (Kubernetes/Docker) Containers - exposure to Docker and Kubernetes
• Scripting - strong skills in Ansible, desirable skills in Python
• Security - Knowledge of and API interaction with Cyberark or Vault
• Cloud-based environments such as: AWS, GCP and Azure
• Troubleshooting/Resolving Application issues as per need from support team.
• Implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipeline on all applications developing in perimeter

Technical Skills

• System administration - In-depth knowledge in Linux/Unix and good knowledge on
• Experience in migrations from legacy platforms to new solutions ensuring technology evolution is maintained
• Knowledge of programming and scripting methodologies and demonstrable proficiency in writing code in one or more of the following languages Python, Perl
• Understanding of user and server authentication enabling end to end automated release cycles whilst ensuring security is a primary consideration
• Understand of cloud based platforms and solutions and delivery of PAAS solutions . Experience in Jira, Confluence and ServiceNow Desirable IT Skills
• Databases - exposure to or skills in SQL Server, Oracle and noSQL DBs
• Understanding of application lifecycle and Agile methodology
