With five mines, a mill, a smelter, a refinery and nearly 4,000 employees it is also one of the largest integrated mining complexes in the world.The Port Colborne Refinery was also commissioned 100 years ago on the shore of Lake Erie. Raw materials and finished products from Vale\xe2\x80\x99s Sudbury and Newfoundland and Labrador operations are transported to Port Colborne for processing.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Development Underground Miner to join our All Mines Development Department in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a permanent position.Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Development Underground Miner, provides a full range of underground services while working according to work procedures and company policies and ensuring efficient operations within a safety conscious environment.Additionally, in this position you will:

• Work on a rotation schedule (days and nights).
• Follow all established policies, procedures, and best practices as well as industry specific regulations.
• Work closely and cooperatively with peers and supervisor to achieve the objectives of the plant in a safe and professional manner.

About YouEducation:

• Grade 12 level education or GED equivalency is required.
• Underground Hard Rock Miner - Common Core
• Specifically, Mech Rock Bolter U0018 AND/ OR Mech Jumbo Drill U0089 AND Scooptram U0068B AND/ OR Blast Rock U0006

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of mining experience.

Skills:The incumbent should have knowledge, experience and demonstrated skills in one or more of the following areas:

• MacLean Bolter
• Jumbo Drilling
• Scoop Tram (Heavy Equipment)
• Blasting
• Boltec Bolter
• Cable Bolter/Enhance Support
