The Development Officer, Philanthropy is directly responsible for achievement of yearly fundraising goals. This donor-facing position manages an assigned portfolio of individual and organizational donor relationships based on their passions and interests. Key to this role is maintaining relevant knowledge of donor offer opportunities that reflect a range of the Y's programs, plans and impacts.


I

n this role, you will:




Initiate donor thank-you and discovery calls with existing broad-based donors to increase mid-level donor giving in the $500-plus giving range Manage donor engagement and giving in the $1,000 - $9,999 range, and renewal of donor giving in the $10,000 plus range Act as the main contact for assigned relationships, and initiate impact calls, videos, reports, program visits, and invitations to donor events Provide timely and thoughtful responses to donor inquiries, questions and concerns, and follow-up steps as agreed upon Personalize and customize existing donor offer materials, including LOIs, Overviews, Proposals, Online Applications, Updates and Reports, sharing with assigned portfolio donors With support from the Senior Development Officer, Philanthropy, contribute to the identification and strategic consideration of new donor offer opportunities Prepare for and participate in frequent routine portfolio and pipeline review meetings Report monthly revenue for giving in the $1,000 - $24,999 range during monthly team meetings Record activity and correspondence in a database and shared folders, and review gift coding, acknowledgement and receipting as requested Contribute to the Fundraising team's annual budgeting and goal setting, annual work plan development and quarterly reviews

You bring:




Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience Minimum three years of fundraising experience Proven ability to build donor relationships resulting in charitable donations Proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience using Raiser's Edge an asset Excellent understanding of diversity, inclusion and equity including the ability to identify and address barriers, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and integrate equity into fundraising language and approach Ability to build relationships and trust, and to partner effectively with a cross functional team Developed planning and time management skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong written and verbal communication skills, and building presentation skills Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work autonomously and remain flexible as plans change Excellent understanding of diversity, inclusion and equity including the ability to identify and address barriers, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and integrate equity into program design
