FUNCTION & DUTIES:



Reporting to the Coordinator of Research and Special Projects, the Development Officer is responsible for research, analysis and development related to specific projects of General Administration and additional requests for funding from that department.





IN GENERAL, THE POSITION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES:


Identify potential funders such as foundations, governments, businesses and private investors;
Draft funding proposals including project plans, detailed budgets and justifications for funding;
Maintain relationships with existing funders and connect with potential new partners;
Follow up on projects being funded and report on their progress to the funders and his/her supervisors;
Keep abreast of new funding trends and opportunities;
Advise project carriers on optimal funding strategies and help them meet the funders' requirements;
Assist the Coordinator of Research and Special Projects with her work;
Perform any other related tasks required by his/her supervisor.




QUALIFICATIONS:



Terminal undergraduate degree in a field of study that is appropriate to the position.





The School Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.





REQUIREMENTS:


Fluency in two (2) of the three (3) official working languages of Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (Inuktitut, French, English);
Communication and leadership skills;
Report writing skills;
Teamwork skills;
Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite;
Knowledge of the main regional stakeholders.




CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:



In accordance with the SPPENOM collective agreement for professionals, this position belongs to job category 2143: from $49,456 to $87,626 annually depending on qualifications and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
