YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Underground Mine Captain, you will be part of the Underground Mine Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.Ensure that all practices and procedures are performed with respect to the defined regulations:
Ensure the Health and Safety of the mining team by verifying that weekly and monthly safety audits are performed (work cards, inspections, safety meetings, etc.) and that accurate reporting and investigation of accident and incidents are thoroughly completed:
Ensure that all employees have received proper training/accreditation for the jobs they perform and for the tools/equipment they operate;
Promote Agnico Eagle's environmental and sustainability policies, ensuring all federal and provincial legislative requirements are met;
Prepare the shift's lineup as required, ensuring the maximization of resources in an effort to achieve optimal performance and meet daily objectives safely;
Enforce the utilization of the work card and supervision formula principles during the course of every shift;
Lead the mining team in all safety and production-related matters and correctly record all relevant information and data;
Complete timesheets, shift logs and report accurately;
Ensure smooth communication and interaction within the technical and operations teams to assist in the planning and design so that goals are achieved.
Perform all other duties as requested by the management group.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
High School Diploma; post-secondary studies in a field of study related to mining is an asset;
5 years of experience in a supervisor role/leadership role.
5 years of experience in the mining industry, geared towards development needs;
Ability to plan and organize large scale operations;
QA/QC on ground support installation, development drilling and blasting, and cycling;
Hold Supervisory Common Core Hard Rock mining or equivalent;
Hold or be eligible for a valid first aid certificate;
Knowledge of the Environmental and Ontario Mining Act and Regulations is considered an asset.
Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint as assets as well.
Your Work Schedule:
Schedule: 7/7 or 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine.
Accommodation and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
