About the Tour de Cure

The Tour de Cure is BC\xe2\x80\x99s biggest annual fundraiser that powers innovative Cancer research. Thousands of riders, volunteers and supporters come together each year for a two-day cycling challenge at the end of August.

This program is much more than a two-day event. It is a community movement and a year-round peer-to-peer fundraising program. To date, the Tour de Cure has raised over $117 million to fuel best in class research in BC.

About the Opportunity

Reporting into the Senior Director, Development , the Development Manager is responsible for championing the Tour de Cure and the BC Cancer Foundation, generating corporate leads based on insights, recruiting new teams, and building and managing strong relationships across our network of valued influencers, donors and partners.

We are looking for a strategic thinker who is proactive and committed to achieving winning results. This position collaborates with internal program areas to ensure Tour de Cure activities contribute to shared goals for sustained fundraising success and align with BCCF goals related to: donor engagement and stewardship, major gift development, corporate sponsor relations, and overall marketing and communications. This position requires strong business acumen and the ability to manage the Tour De Cure program according to the unique and diverse needs of BCCF, our riders and stakeholders.

Professional experience in business development, sales and/or member experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Analysis

Analyse and review data to understand our riders and donors to build action plans for target groups.

Monitor current marketplace trends and corporate activity in order to create and capitalize on opportunity.

Support the marketing department\'s initiatives with planning, execution, and tracking of marketing programs.

Evaluate and monitor campaign performance by analyzing key metrics and creating comprehensive reports.

Growth

Grow and manage a portfolio of prospects through the development of strategic cultivation and solicitation plans.

Identify and actively recruit riders and corporate teams.

Organize and lead orientation sessions to drive recruitment and fundraising.

Stewardship

Provide an exceptional customer service experience for all enquirers and participants.

Identify and lead stewardship activities that develop and deepen relationships with riders and donors.

Set up fundraising plans with riders and team captains to help ensure they meet their targets.

Collaborate with the Leadership Giving and Major Gifts teams to strategically cultivate donors and move them through the Foundation\xe2\x80\x99s pipeline.

Other

Serve as Event Staff on event weekend and during other off-season events.

Qualifications

Degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in a related field.

Minimum of 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 professional experience in sales, business development and/or membership experience.

Minimum of 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 professional experience in relationship and stakeholder management focused roles.

Experience and skills

Experience generating new sales, member and/or fundraising leads from targeted activity and insights.

Ability to meet growth targets and milestones.

Ability to anticipate and leverage emerging trends, and take initiative to harness new opportunities for growth and/or improvement.

Ability to speak confidently in front of large groups and organizations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as outstanding copywriting and proofreading skills.

Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and nurture professional relationships.

Strong organizational and project management skills, as well as attention to detail.

Strong analytical skills. Ability to generate insights reports to inform strategic and action plans.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and CRM Systems.

License to drive a car in British Columbia.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000
