This is a hybrid position primarily based in Richmond Hill, ON. We\'re committed to your flexibility and wellbeing and our hybrid strategy currently requires two days a week in the office, giving you the option to work remotely for some of your working week. .

A role you will love

CCS consults, designs, builds, and orchestrates smart communications solutions across traditional and emerging channels to help clients drive increased customer engagement and optimize operational efficiencies.

As the Developer, you will report directly into the Software Development Team Leader with a purpose of delivering high quality client communications applications. You will partake in the development and delivery of high quality, robust programs in adherence to established standards and procedures.

Other key responsibilities include:
  • Design and code quality programs that words with various data sources using Perl, Quadient Inspire and interacting with SQL Server
  • Complete all deliverables on schedule and within estimated time limits
  • Learn and provide support for all internal systems from troubleshooting, maintenance, and system upgrades to provide high availability of business systems
  • Adherence to departmental and company standards, processes, and procedures
  • Perform review on the solution design, architecture, and code of peer developers to maintain quality and standards
  • Facilitate training and knowledge transfer between team members to enhance delivery of overall objectives
  • Identify and support business innovation initiatives such as process improvement, on-boarding new technologies, improvements to existing technologies, minimizing technical debt to ensure optimal operational efficiency
  • Liaise with BAs, QAs, Project Managers and other areas of the business to deliver client and business requirements to provide the best customer experience
What will you bring to the role?

You are someone with a curious mindset and a strong desire to learn and stay current with the latest technologies. You pride yourself on your ability to problem solve and to provide solutions.

You also bring:
  • 1+ years\' programming experience working with object-oriented languages (i.e. Perl, Java, C#, VB.NET, Python) and SQL databases (MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle)
  • Experience working with version control systems such as Git, TFVC, etc.
  • Knowledge of various file formats and data standards (Flat, XML, HTML, JSON, YAML, multi record structures, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Design Patterns (OODP) and desire to deliver highly efficient and maintainable applications
Bonus points if you have:
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipeline tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or Microsoft Team Foundations Server
  • Experience working with reporting tools such as PowerBI or SSRS
  • Experience working with Quadient Inspire
  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or related discipline
