Job Description

Our Banking Client is looking for a Developer - Specialty - 5 to support their Canadian Banking Engineering group on the FX Payment Modernization project. The project is in the planning stage, set to begin in September, and focuses on back-end (90%) mainframe development with some front-end exposure. This role requires fluency in English (oral and written) and strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders. Candidates should also bring mainframe development experience, with the ability to analyze, design, and support core banking applications and infrastructure.

Job Derscription:
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

• 10 years of experience in host/mainframe development - COBOL, JCL (Coding language) is a must-have.
• 5+ years of work experience with ACF, Endevor, DB2 and IMS
• Must be fluent in English, oral and written.

Nice-To-Have Skills:

• Experience in the financial industry.
• Experience in mainframe development such as CA7, SAS, CICS is nice to have
• Worked in Agile lab or used Agile framework.
• Experience in Java, Azure is an asset.

Best VS. Average Candidate:
Prior experience at Scotiabank or similar major financial institutions. The best candidate is someone with previous experience as a mainframe developer within a large-scale financial environment. Worked in an Agile lab or used an Agile framework
