Desktop Support (Site Support) at Teck Resources is a Tier 2 end user support position, with aspects of higher and lower responsibility and technical-aptitude work occasionally included. As its name implies, Desktop Support is a predominantly in-person support role! Due to this fact, this position is and will remain in-person and in-office 80-100% of the week.
The Desktop Support Technician should come from a customer service background, with a focus on recent technology. The successful candidate would have experience supporting executives in an enterprise environment, if not also experience directly working with C-Suite to meet their technical needs as well.
While the team is quite tight-knit, candidates must have the ability to work independently and make use of varied and detached resources as well. All work is delegated and documented through ServiceNow, and prior experience with this tool is beneficial. Upkeep of the request, incident, and asset management records is also expected, as well as updating internal team documentation and externally facing knowledgebase articles when necessary.
