Valley Fiber Ltd. is a locally owned and operated technology firm based in Winkler, MB. The ever-growing need for fast and reliable telecommunications has spurred innovation. This innovation has been one of the core passions for the Valley Fiber Development Team. Since 2017, this team has been working on bringing its next generation fiber optic infrastructure to the region and beyond. Valley Fiber is looking for a self-motivated, dependable individual to join our team as a full-time Designer. As a member of the Valley Fiber team, you will help develop and design fiber optic distribution within townships and create field databases used for network builds. This position reports to the Director of Planning & Engineering.


Who You Are:

Previous experience in construction or project management is an asset Previous experience in telecommunications industry is an asset Proficient using Autodesk AutoCAD, Google Earth/GIS software Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite Valid class 5 driver's license is required Ability to read and understand engineering drawings Strong multitasking and problem-solving skills Ability to negotiate effectively and professionally with contractors, rural

municipalities, etc.

What You'll Do:

Design the fiber network Review construction drawings prepared by junior drafters Coordinate construction with contractors on site Provide cost estimates Verify work completed by junior drafting team Attend various job sites to review construction
Working conditions:

Ability to work on internal systems for long periods of time Ability to attend various job sites to review construction as required Ability to work overtime and be on call as required
