Reporting to the Project Manager the Project Designer will be responsible for all facets of design for our existing and perspective Utility clients.

What You\'ll Do Here:

  • Complete design drawings and calculations that satisfy all the applicable code and regulation requirements (ESA, CEC, CSA, Etc.).
  • Assist in the preparation of design schedules, material / labor estimates, permit applications and construction packages.
  • Conduct pre-design inspections, worksite visits and construction support.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports regarding the status and results of completed and in-progress design projects.
  • Prepare technical reports as required by the client and project team.
  • Utilize various utility design software and tools.
  • Liaises with clients, contractors, field staff and other stakeholders.
  • Performs other duties as required.
What You Bring to the Team:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 3 - 5 years\' experience designing and drafting OH & UG electrical distribution systems.
  • Registration as an E.I.T. with the P.E.O is considered an asset.
  • CET certified or CET eligible is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven people and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Strong computer skills required - experience with AutoCAD software, Bentley MicroStation / ProjectWise, SAP, SpidaCalc, AGi32 streetlighting software and 3-D software experience is considered an asset.
  • Ability to travel for projects (Valid G driver\'s license and access to a vehicle is required).
  • Proven ability to take initiative and leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Hybrid split week work from home / office model.
