We're seeking a detail?oriented

Designer Assistant

to support our Lead Residential Millwork & Cabinetry Designer in creating high?quality custom pieces for kitchens, built?ins, closets, mudrooms, and other home spaces. If you love residential design, appreciate fine craftsmanship, and enjoy turning ideas into precise, build?ready drawings, this role is a perfect fit.

What You'll Do

Assist the Lead Designer with drafting, revisions, and design development for residential projects in our Ottawa Office Produce accurate shop drawings, elevations, sections, and material specifications Assist with managing project details and documentation Interpret client needs, architectural plans, and site measurements Coordinate with project managers and the shop team to ensure smooth production Maintain drawing standards, templates, and organized version control Provide ongoing support to the Lead Designer

What You Bring

Experience in residential millwork, cabinetry, interior design, or architectural drafting Strong skills in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar drafting tools Understanding of residential construction methods, joinery, and hardware Excellent attention to detail and the ability to visualize how designs translate to fabrication Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast?paced environment A positive, team?focused attitude License & Vehicle for getting to work and going to some job site visits(compensated)
