Position Overview



We are seeking a Civil / Architectural Technologist to support our multidisciplinary team across a wide range of project types -- residential, commercial, and light industrial. This role is ideal for a technically minded, hands-on professional who enjoys variety in their work and can adapt to support multiple disciplines as part of a collaborative team.

You will assist with design and drafting for structural, civil, and architectural projects, prepare permit and construction documentation, and play an active role in project coordination and delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to develop practical, wide-ranging experience within a growing design firm.

Key responsibilities:



-Prepare design, permit, and construction drawings in accordance with office standards and project specifications.

-Contribute to the design and detailing of structural, architectural, and civil components for residential and commercial projects.

-Develop site grading, servicing, and drainage plans, as well as foundation and framing layouts.

-Prepare technical details, schedules, and notes for tender and construction packages.

-Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of all building systems.

-Participate in client meetings and site visits to gather data and resolve design or construction issues.

-Assist in the preparation of documentation for IFP (Issued for Permit) and IFC (Issued for Construction) stages.

-Aid in compiling and reviewing permit applications and responding to city review comments.

-Perform basic field reviews or inspections under supervision to verify design intent and construction quality.

-Support office operations and other day-to-day technical needs as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications:



-Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, or a related discipline

-2-5 years of experience in a consulting, construction, or design office environment.

-Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (required)

-Working knowledge of Ontario Building Code (OBC), zoning bylaws, and permitting processes is considered an asset

-Understanding of structural, civil, and MEP building systems.

-Experience with grading, drainage, site servicing, or small-scale site plan design is an asset.

-Strong attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

-Hands-on problem solver with curiosity and a willingness to learn from mentors across multiple disciplines.

-Self-motivated, accountable, and eager to take ownership of tasks.

-Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for site visits (preferred).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 45 per week
