Job Description

Being a

Design Technician

means putting your creativity, expertise, and passion to work for innovation.



In this role, you'll contribute to the development of new products and the improvement of existing ones, taking into account design requirements and new manufacturing strategies. You'll play a key role in computer-aided design (CAD) to deliver efficient and innovative manufacturing solutions.




What you'll do




Design and model new products in line with specifications, performance requirements, and manufacturing costs; Contribute to the improvement of existing products, considering impacts on performance, manufacturing, and cost; Produce detailed drawings and functional dimensions required for part manufacturing; Create technical documents (technical drawings, bill of materials, etc.); Follow up on various manufacturing stages and participate in prototype assembly in the workshop; Support the manufacturing team during the introduction of new products into production; Collaborate with internal teams involved in product development and technical solution design; Participate in all stages of the product development process: brainstorming, manufacturability studies, DFA, DFM, DFI, FMEA, cost testing, and more; Plan, monitor, and validate prototypes and pre-production runs; Communicate with suppliers to establish feasibility constraints, monitor timelines, and track costs; Find innovative and practical technical solutions.

What we're looking for




College diploma (DEC) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; About 1 to 2 years of relevant experience; Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software; Proficiency with MS Office Suite; Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as sheet metal, aluminum casting, and plastic molding; Functional bilingualism in French and English (an asset); Creativity in problem-solving; Autonomy and resourcefulness; Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and rigor; Good communication and teamwork skills.
