The Strategic Infrastructure Assets (SIA) team is accountable for all the TELUS asset growth and sustainment work, to keep our network reliable and ready to serve customers. The TELUS Licensee Program, also referred to as the P408 Program or TELUS Support Structure Access (SSA) Program, is a CRTC-mandated service to grant TELUS support structure access (i.e. poles and underground structures) to all external telecommunication service providers who are registered as CLECs (Competitive Local Exchange Carrier) in the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia.As a Design Specialist II, you will be working with a number of TELUS internal teams including Planning, Project Management, Construction, Business, Finance, Regulatory, Legal as well as external government and telecommunications stakeholders to advance connectivity.What you\'ll doProgram manage and act as the Single Point of Contact for the entire TELUS Licensee (P408) ProgramAccountable for all financial, engineering, construction, relations and general management of operations related to the programConsult as an engineering expert regarding engineering design & process, detailed system use, corporate and regulatory policy regarding TELUS infrastructure provisioningMaintain quality standards for the entire P408 process including applications, designs, deliverablesLiaise with developers, government and municipal officials to provide communication on schedules and solutions related to any TELUS P408 application and processesSupport all joint use pole programs with BC Hydro and other power authority infrastructureResponsible for establishing and analyzing reports to identify gaps, opportunities, forecasts for the TELUS Licensee ProgramQualificationsWhat you bringProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), currently or on-trackWorking knowledge of accepted engineering standards and practices to provision TELUS Licensee networks and projects3-5+ years of relevant telecommunications experienceExperience in outside plant infrastructure, technologies, networks and also of fiber optic infrastructure and general engineering processes and regulatory policies in useDetailed engineering knowledge of a suite of drafting & design systems and tools including SAP, AutoCAD, SpatialNet with specific experience producing designs based on sound engineering economic analysis and following guidelines established by network standardsDemonstrated ability in planning and organizing to meet scheduled deadlines and the ability to effectively interact with external customersGreat-to-havesSolid background in Programming and AutomatingData analytics to be able to provide business, finance and project insights, reports and dashboardsExperience managing internal and external stakeholdersExperience managing municipal, provincial and federal stakeholders and operating in a highly regulated environmentSalary Range: $85,000-$127,000Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 12%Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience.
