SEGULA TECHNOLOGIES is assisting a major automotive OEM in hiring a Design Release Engineer - Brake Interface & Pedals to join our growing team in Windsor, ON.

This position requires frequent travel to the USA; candidates must hold Canadian citizenship or have the ability to work in the USA.



As the DRE for Brake & Accelerator Pedals, you will be responsible for the design, validation, and release of brake and accelerator pedals and pedal assemblies. Your role will encompass all aspects of component design to ensure the achievement of system and vehicle-level functional objectives.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Managing the release of components, including bill of material, CAD drawings, and design verification plan.

Conducting physical testing and validation.

Collaborating with Vehicle Engineering, suppliers, Purchasing, Quality, and Assembly Plants.

Directing packaging within the vehicle environment.

Overseeing supplier and internal Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR) and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).

Supporting activities such as Advanced Quality Planning (AQP), Product Start of Operations (PSO), product launch, and ongoing maintenance.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Automotive, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution or ABET equivalent.

Aptitude for mechanical engineering demonstrated through work experience or academic projects.

Strong communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams.

1-5 years of experience in brake design, development, and validation.

Strong expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Proficiency in engineering disciplines, such as Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR), Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), etc.

Formal training or experience in problem-solving, quality, and reliability.

Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Green Belt / Black Belt certification.

Experience in manufacturing of brake components and vehicle assembly.
