Job Description

One of our clients, a company in the transportation industry, is looking to bring on someone focused on Electrical Design Engineering.

The role involves completing component-level design tasks with a focus on electrical systems. Candidates will support test planning, execution, and reporting under the supervision of a test lead. Regular status updates to the supervisor are required, alongside sharing insights for improvement and supporting quality initiatives.
Responsibilities

  • Complete component-level design tasks while keeping the supervisor informed about progress and any issues encountered.
  • Ensure all designs undergo peer review by a technical lead or assigned mentor.
  • Support test planning, execution, and reporting as assigned under the supervision of the test lead.
  • Provide status updates to the supervisor on the progress of tasks.
  • Share insights and ideas for improvement with the supervisor and support improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Identify opportunities for self-development and raise ideas to the supervisor's attention.
  • Support quality and Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCA) related activities as requested.
  • Focus areas include Electrical: Automotive Power Generation, Storage and Distribution, Automotive Controls of Electro-Mechanical Systems, Automotive Internal and External Lights selection and integration, Power and Data Controllers, Wiring Harness designs, Vehicle Schematic Development, and Vehicle Level Software Testing.
  • Focus areas include Command, Control, Communications, Computers (C4): Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems such as radios/antennas, intercom systems, navigation systems, cameras and electro-optic sensors, video networks, and unscrewed systems.
Essential Skills
  • Designing and engineering degree.
  • Project management skills.
  • Product knowledge in automotive, aerospace, or defense sectors.
  • Experience with Siemens NX, design, and GD&T.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • University degree or College Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • 1+ years of relevant engineering experience.
Work Environment
The position is 100% onsite in a manufacturing environment. This is a long-term opportunity with a 12-month contract that may be extended or converted to a permanent position. It offers a great chance to work at a leading defense company on custom military vehicles, providing opportunities for career development and learning new technical skills.
