This is what you need to know:Location: Knoxville (TN), or Vancouver (BC)Salary: Highly Competitive Plus BenefitsContract: Permanent, Full timeReporting to: Engineering Resource ManagerYour role in the mission:The Type One Energy Technology Division is seeking an experienced CAD Designer with first of a kind design and integration skills.The primary function of this position is to provide conceptual, preliminary and final design of systems and components for our Stellarator Fusion technologies. You will be responsible for the design of systems and components as well as developing procurement packages.

  • Translate design requirements into functional stellarator components and systems.
  • Develop system and component designs and associated technical specifications for stellarator systems.
  • Analyze and align the interface requirements between and among stellarator systems.
  • Develop procurement packages for the fabrication of stellarator components, monitoring the fabrication cost and schedule as well as resolving technical questions which may occur during the fabrication efforts.
What youll need:
  • Candidates must have a BS degree in Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of design related experience
  • Five years of experience using commercial CAD software, as well as an understanding of ANSI callouts, machining practices, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T).
  • The candidate will ideally have proficiency using Siemens NX computer aided design software.
  • Experience with design of fusion energy systems and equipment is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, presentation, and writing skills are required to enable effective interaction with technical peers, program managers, and sponsors
