Duties & Responsibilities Essential Functions in a production environment o Coordinate and participate in the creation of both solid models, instanced with a PLM environment, and 2D drawings that meet all appropriate ANSI and industry standards. o Understand the relationship between CAD solid, 2D drawings, tooling and final part. o Use all means available to validate the dimensions, geometry and all relevant data to ensure drawings are corrected. o Be proficient with GD&T standards. o Be proficient with mechanical design practices. o Be familiar with typical aircraft structures and systems architecture. o Be an Intermediate or Expert user of Catia v5 and Enovia, as well as common work packages, such as Generative Sheet Metal Design. o Be able to optimize competing design criteria. o Liaison cordially and effectively with other support groups, end users, and consumers of the designs. o Identify, investigate and correct drawing deficiencies and discrepancies. o Be able to explain your design decisions clearly and succinctly. o Be comfortable asking for input from senior members of the engineering department. o Be able to work effectively as part of the Design Team, but also as a member of the larger Engineering Department. Additional Functions o Actively works to improve processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements. o Maintains project governance and reporting on progress o Holds regular reviews. o Is accountable for the quality of drawings and the performance of the larger team. o Possibly performs other duties such as Internal Audit Support, Airworthiness containment activities and corrective action implementation.
