Eco Power Equipment -- Sturgeon County / St. Albert, AB
Build equipment that keeps job sites powered, heated, and on schedule.
We design and manufacture rugged generators, heaters, and site-support equipment used by major rental houses and contractors across North America. If you love turning clean models into real metal that ships, this is your spot.
The role
You'll own design work in
Onshape
--from concept to release--focused on
sheet metal, weldments, and assemblies
for our Eco Power product lines. You'll partner tightly with manufacturing, purchasing, and service to release designs that are
clear, buildable, and cost-smart
.
Ideal background: Mechanical Engineering Technologist (MET) or similar hands-on mechanical design experience. What you'll do
Model
sheet metal parts/assemblies
in Onshape using configurations, in-context design, and standard libraries.
Create
production-ready drawings
(dim/tolerances, GD&T where needed), flat patterns, DXF exports, and clear BOMs.
Design brackets, guards, enclosures, frames, ducts, and mounting systems for
generators, heaters, light towers, and power distribution
.
Collaborate on
ECOs
; clean up legacy designs and standardize hardware/fasteners.
Support
prototype builds
and quickly roll improvements into revs.
Help build a lean engineering system (part numbering, templates, design standards).
You'll thrive here if you
Are fluent in
Onshape
(or SolidWorks/Inventor and excited to switch) and know sheet metal inside out.
Understand
manufacturing processes
(brake press, laser, weld, hardware insertion) and cost/lead-time tradeoffs.
Write crisp, unambiguous drawings and
BOMs that manufacturing loves
.
Enjoy shop time: tape measure in one hand, calipers in the other, solving problems with the team.
Communicate clearly and keep work moving without hand-holding.
Nice-to-haves
Experience with
electro-mechanical packaging
, fan/blower layouts, and thermal/airflow constraints.
Exposure to
ECR/ECO workflows
, PDM, and ERP (Epicor or similar).
GD&T basics; tolerance stack thinking; standard fasteners/hardware libraries.
Basic wiring/harness routing awareness.
Why Eco Power
